Friday Favourites: Haigh’s Violet Creams

A True Love of Mine: Haigh's Violet Creams

It’s been a tough couple of weeks and tonight I really feel like a little indulgence. So, as I lie on the couch writing this blog post i’m indulging in a couple of the delicious chocolates that this post is dedicated to. Haigh’s Violet Cream chocolates are my absolute favourite chocolates of all time.

A True Love of Mine: Haigh's Violet Creams

While they cost a pretty penny (enough to make them definitely an indulgence rather than a staple – chocolate of some form can always be considered a staple regardless of what the food pyramid says) they are delicious. Haigh’s chocolate is dark and smooth which contrasts with the flowing violet centre. The taste is difficult to describe if you’ve not tried any similar flower flavoured sweets but they taste exactly like the scent of the violet flower. Hubs says derisively that they taste like a mouthful of potpurri but I love that he hates them. It means that there are more for me!

A True Love of Mine: Haigh's Violet CreamsLook at that flowing sweetness! Yum!

I like to eat these chocolate with a cup of green tea to help me relax after a trying day, or as a treat after i’ve completed some difficult work. I think its important to treat yourself once in a while (or a little more often as the case inevitably is!). I also love that they’re an Australian company and seem to be the only place that I can get this flavour.

You can buy these chocolates from any Haigh’s stores but I believe that you can also purchase them through their online store found here. You might also want to fill your bag with some of the other unusual but undeniably delicious flavours that they have such as lemon myrtle, lime or quandong. You could also test your willpower and see if you can resist their signature chocolate frogs. I dare you!

So what do you do to treat yourself? What little indulgences do you use to reward yourself after a long day?

What can I say? I love sweets, in all shapes and sizes! You only live once, so why not indulge once in a while? Or, in my case, most of the time...
